How Can Meditation Help Me

The spiritual practice of meditation can be an incredibly valuable tool for maintaining peace of mind during our daily activities. The mind loves to think. That's what it's designed to do. However, the mind is so good at thinking that it has a tendency to overthink, creating stress. It also thinks that thinking is so important that it will even rebel when it's not thinking. The mind simply put wants to be in control of the human and not the other way around.

So how does a person get control of the mind, so they can objectively observe, monitor and reach a harmonious relationship with their mind.  So that they have a beneficial relationship with their thoughts. 

Fortunately, thousands of years ago, the Eastern part of the world discovered a fantastic tool for this. Meditation. Later in another blog post, I will go into some detail about various techniques that I prefer, to create a meditative state. There are also scores of online videos on the topic. Look under headings such as "Guided Meditation", "Kirtan Music", and "Inner Visualization" to explore this further. 

Meditation is an amazing technique for inner well being. I hope you explore it further.
