Totally agree with you there...some people practicing Christianity just haven't done their due diligence to learn deeper truths other then what's being said on the pulpit...they don't read for themselves...The Bible or Christianity should I say is the youngest religion of them all...I personally don't read the bible literally, I read it metaphorically...
