SANCHEZ,A GREAT ATTACHING ADDITION BUT HE NEEDS POGBA'S CREATIVITY

For much of the current season, the main topic has been how utterly predictable united are without Paul Pogba. Even when the united's talisman is on the field, especially during the early days of the season, united look imperious.A force of nature that keep badgering you until you succumb. But whenever the man is not on the field or on the rare occasions that he did not deliver,United appear to totally lack creativity.Their play becomes labored, boring and unattractive. All their creativity seemingly disappearing with the absence of the Frenchman.

The signing of Alexis Sanchez was supposed to remedy this over-dependence on Pogba to a large extent .But on the evidence of the match again Huddersfield, this is not the case.If anything, the match proved that the Chilean's tenacity and tricks needs the audacity and creativity of the Frenchman to flourish. For most of the game,United seemed to just keep passing the ball around no ingenuity,no creativity. The only player who seems to want to make something happen was Sanchez but David Wagner seemed to have a plan for that.In fact,it seemed he had sent out his wards with only two sets of instructions :Defend resolutely and kick Sanchez anytime he is on the ball.

That approach looked to have worked at least until the 55th minute when Lukaku turned in a splendid low cross from the left .Sanchez was kicked a season record times all because he was trying to be both the creative force and attacking threat at the same time. The introduction of Paul Pogba brought about a remarkable increase in creativity, his splendid pass when led to the penalty won by Sanchez emphasize his importance to the side.Sanchez may have scored the rebound after missing the penalty but the goal was simply created by that moment of magic from the Frenchman.

For now,at least Sanchez is slowly but surely finding his feet but the Frenchman will make it easier.
