Seems as though Beyonce predicted it, well, maybe not in the formula 1 context. You know what I'm getting at.
It was announced on Wednesday, 26th of August that the 'Halo' cockpit will be a new component added to F1 cars at the beginning of the 2018 season.
Based on an article written on espn.com.au, the decision was based on the 'best overall safety performance' according to the FIA's five years of research into increased frontal head protection.
With any change in physical appearance to an F1 car, usually comes some criticism's. There is a split between the driver's. Ultimately, safety is absolutely paramount. Eventually it will become the norm and a distant memory. For now, however, it will take some getting used to. thankfully the driver's haven't complained too much, and the guys that were against it initially, have come to terms with the change and are on board.
So steemit community what are your thoughts? To the avid F1 fans do you see it as a hindrance or good step forward?
Yes, it does make the car look a little uglier, however, my personal view is that any percentage in safety improvement is better than none at all.
