Russia will face Saudi Arabia in the inaugural game of the 2018 World Cup, after the groups were defined in the draw held last Friday in the Kremlin, Moscow.
The match will be held on June 14 at the Luzhniki Olympic Stadium, the Russian capital.
In the draw, in which the location of the 32 classified in eight groups was defined, the South Americans Argentina (twice world champion) and Brazil (five-time champion) remained as head of groups D and E.
The albiceleste, with the star Lionel Messi, will face Iceland, Croatia and Nigeria, while the Brazilians, commanded by Neymar Jr., will play against Switzerland, Costa Rica and Serbia.
Uruguay, another of the Conmebol teams, remained in Group A and will face Russia, Saudi Arabia and Egypt; Peru was in the C along with France, Australia and Denmark; and Colombia, located in group H, will face Poland, Senegal and Japan.
The 2018 World Cup will be held in 11 cities and will end on Sunday, July 15.
