Today it is 25 years ago that Michael Schumacher made his debut in the Formula 1. This took place at 25 august 1991 at the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps. He would become the most successful formula 1 driver of all time and a legend. For me personaly he is not the biggest driver but for sure he is a legend.
So it all began in Belgium. Schumacher was appointed by team Jordan to replace the Belgian driver Bertrand Gachot. Bertrand was in jail for 2 months because of a fight in London with a taxi driver. Mercedes payed Jordan for this seat. The 22 year old German never drove at Spa-Francorchamps. He only knew the circuit as a visitor.
It did not matter for this talent. In qualification he made a big impression becoming 7th, and beating his teammate by 0.7 seconds. The well known Andrea Cesaris.
A new star was born, and the rest is history. After that he weekend he left Jordan to drive for Benetton. With that team he would become champion in 1994 and 1995. Later on he would join Ferrari, and win 5 more titles.
At this moment it is not going all that well with him. He had a ski accident, and is still recovering from that.
