Conor McGregor is overrated because..

Because there are fighters that will beat him that don’t get the attention that he does, Khabib or Tony, Kevin Lee.
Conor hasn’t fought any of the sharks at 155 he fought Alvarez (got beat up by Cowboy) and Nate Diaz (Couldn’t finish Nate)....He ducks fighters like Khabib, Tony and Lee, which is why he is overrated, he just hasn’t been exposed yet.

He is overrated because his fans think he can just run through these guys, there’s a difference, Conor is the next generation of fighting vs Alvarez and Jose Aldo are the last generation, I’m not taking away what he’s done, he has some good accomplishments but he hasn’t defended belts over and over (proving he is the best out there) and for the Mayweather fight, Mayweather didn’t fight the way he normally does, only blind Conor fans can’t see that Floyd let him punch himself out so he would gas out and Floyd could come in for the finish.

I don't think he is over rated but see where you are coming from with some of your points.

I do wish we could have seen more of his actions inside the cage and less of the stuff outside the cage.

Yeah I also believe he is overrated

I agree he is over rated but for somewhat different reasons. He has some great accomplishments but was given the opportunity to achieve those complements on a silver platter.

He also never fought Nate Diaz at 155 lbs .. they fought at 170 lbs. Allot of his fights he had advantages in his favor. Examples below :

  • His tremendous size advantage over the 145 lb division.
  • He fought Mendes when Mendes only had a couple weeks to train and Conor himself had a full camp.
  • Nate Diaz had 0 time to train in their first fight and is a win one lose one fighter at 155 lbs and still managed to beat Conor.
  • The second Diaz fight was extremely close and somehow going 1-1 with Nate Diaz in the 170 lb division earned him a shot at the 155 lb title.

I thought he did well in the Floyd boxing match all things considered. After-all he is an MMA fighter in a boxing ring with one of the best to ever box. If the roles were reversed and Floyd was in the Octagon with one of the very best MMA fighters then Floyd likely wouldn't make it past the first minute of the fight. Kudos to Conor for at least making the boxing match somewhat entertaining.
