Jonathan Haggerty vs Sam-A Gaiyanghadao - Post Fight Thoughts...

The dust is settling after yesterdays One championship event headlined by Jonathan Haggerty vs Sam- A Gaiyanghadao and i think it is fair to say that a new star has been born as Jonathan Haggerty wins a unanimous decision victory over one of the all time greats in Sam-A Gaiyanghadao.

Jon fought his skin off yesterday putting on a performance of a life time and even managed to knock Sam-A down twice to get the win, this was a real nail biting experience for me, there were times when Jon egged on an elbow war which had me nervous as Sam-A started landing hella knees (lol), though our guy managed to take the best Sam-A could throw at him and answer back every single time.

As for what's next for Jonathan he did call out a fighter by the name of Rodtang Jitmuangnon who is a superstar in his own right and a two-time Omnoi Stadium champion with a record of 252-40-10, i think this fight makes the most sense and is another great match up for Jonathan this is the kind of match up that will allow Jonathan to display his full arsenal of weapons once again and one i look forward seeing.

There is also another chap i would love to see Jonathan compete against and that is Nong-O Gaiyanghadao who is from the same camp as Sam-A and also holds the One FC Muay Thai bantamweight title which is a division Jonathan could easily compete in, Jonathan is huge for a flyweight and would also be a big bantamweight, beating Nong-O would make Jonathan a double champion and book his place in the history books as one of the best strikers ever.

The whole UK Muay Thai community really came out and showed their support for Jon to the point where it became almost palpable and i really look forward to seeing what the future holds for both Jonathan and the UK Muay Thai scene, i would love to know the numbers of this event in terms of how many people were watching because i think it may well have been a record breaker for One FC.
