David de Gea whose contract is about to run out is getting ready to extend his stay at Manchester United by 6 years with the hopes of becoming the next Captain of the team.
With clear statements by the veteran goalkeeper, David de Gea expressed his intention of taking up the captaincy responsibility of the Manchester United team.
""We have to improve a lot", he said. "We are Manchester United; we need to fight for trophies,"
The 28-years old goalkeeper is not going to be the Captain of Manchester United without a fight from Paul Pogba, Chris Smalling, and Ashley Young, who are also in contention for the armband.
De Gea;
"I've been captain for some games," De Gea said. "Of course, it is amazing to be captain of a club like Manchester United and defend this badge.
"It's amazing, so of course I'll be really, really happy to be captain."

"I need to show that on the pitch and try to help the young guys know what Manchester United means and that's important.
