Well, maybe you wonder what the hell airsoft is, when I first heard about this sport (yes it is a sport, I will cover that up later) I was thinking the same.
Airsoft is a military-simulation based sport, it is played using military clothing and 1:1 scale weapon replicas
Don't worry, they don't use real bullets, they shoot 6mm caliber BB's made out of polymer.
Airsoft first appeared in Japan in 1950. Due to the legislation after WWII, japanese people weren't allowed to use real fire arms so they came up with these airsoft weapons. Sure, the first airsoft weapons didn't look anithing like the ones we have today, the first ones were verry underpowered, shooting at around 50-90 m/s, the ones we have today can reach muzzle speeds close to 200 m/s.
I started playing airsoft in august 2017, and now I am a member of Airsoft Craiova Club :) .I live in Romania, which is a country where airsoft is legal and airsoft weapons are legal to own. There are countries in Europe where this sport is illegal, like UK.
As I told you earlyer in this post, airsoft is considered a sport. In my oppinion it is highly addictive. It is a good way to stay in shape, to relieve stress and, most importantly, to make new friends.

Wow, it is so pathetic that this sport is actually banned in certain countries. Just shows you the paranoia and psychosis of the control freak government!
