The reason why Sport is good to our health: Origin of Soccer

The word "sport" comes from the old french meaning "leisure".
The greek word for sport is athlitismós Sport can be beneficial to our health in various forms. We need to exercise daily in order to keep fit. Asides having good diet, we need to burn our calories. Most people don't want to look so swelled and as we know fats are not good for the body.
Sport is very important to our health because it helps to improve our physical fitness, physical fitness involves how well being we are. Sport contributes to muscle development, cardiovascular health, it prevents some diseases in our body, it helps in boosting our mental awareness.
Sport also helps in weight management, strengthening of bones, reduces cholesterol in our body and it improves our blood circulation.
Most sports played today were developed in 19th and 20th century.
Sports like wrestling, running, hunting, canoeing, archery, horse riding and throwing a ball-like object.

HISTORY OF SOCCER

Soccer has been played over 300years and it can be seen in games played in China, Japan, Egypt, Greece and they had different names for soccer before our modern game developed in England. Soccer was said to be played in China around 5000BC and it was named "Tsu Chu" Japanese named soccer "Kemari" Ancient greece-Episkyror In 1605, North America played soccer and called it "pasuckuakohowog". In 1820, USA called it football While in October 26, 1863 the Football Association was formed when eleven london clubs came together at the Freemason's Tavern to form a single set of rules. On December 8, 1863 Association Football and Rugby Football split to two different organization.

The first ever soccer match was played at Mortlake in London on 19th December 1863 between Barnes Football club (BFC) and Richmond Football club (RFC). The game ended in a 0-0 draw. But the first official international soccer match was played between national teams of England and Scotland, it was played in Glasgow Scotland and it was played in the year 30 November 1972 and was finished with 0-0 draw.

In 1888, penalty kick was introduced into soccer and soccer was played at the Olympic games for the first time. FIFA was established in the year 1904 by representatives from France, Belgium, Denmark the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland at a conference in Parison the 21st of May 1904.
