Guardiola plans to hunt for a huge deal from St. Germain

LONDON (Reuters) - Manchester City are looking into the fate of Paris St Germain from UEFA sanctions to try to snatch a deal from their squad during the summer transfer period.

Paris Saint-Germain has been threatened by substantial penalties from UEFA, who may be excluded from the Champions League because of a violation of the rules of fair play.

St Germain spent 222 million euros on Barcelona's Neymar. He also secured the services of young man Kilian Mbabi on loan from Monaco with a purchase charge of 180 million euros at the start of next season.

ESPN reported that Saint-Germain might turn to several of his top stars to solve the problem and avoid UEFA's sanctions.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is watching Mbabi's position with interest, as he will seek to include him in the event that St. Germain is offered for sale at Mercato.

Guardiola had wanted to join the 19-year-old striker last summer, but Saint-Germain finally managed to snatch him, with Real Madrid also interested in his inclusion as reported.
