It is a different Fed
In more ways than one.
It is the Roger Fed(erer) - arguably the most successful tennis player in the modern era.
And he is gunning for one more shot at glory and a record 8th championship on Wimbledon grass.
The question is...Can he do it?
Can he be the champ once more? Let's face it at age 36 it is a tall order. That said, the man plays the same he did ten years ago...
To answer this question we need to look at 2 things.
How well he is playing and who will be the main contentders.
On his playing..it is easy...
Roger is having a great season. Austrialian open champion and 3 ATP crowns.
He sat out the French open, resting his aging legs for the grass court season.
And as we said earlier, the man is playing like he did ten years ago.
Can you remember how unstoppable he was then?
The contenders...well its the ususal suspects.
Of course Andy Murray is the world number one, reigning champion, seeded one and the darling of centre court. He must be the main contender.
Next I would say is a toss up between Novak Djokovic and Raphael Nadal. The later is back after a few dry years. As for Novak, he might be a bit out of sorts but you can never write him off.
So who do you think it will be?
This is the one of the sproting events I wait for each year. And this year might be one of the best!
Enjoy your Wimbledon!
