The bid committee for the 2026 World Cup Soccer (World-2026) unveiled yesterday in Casablanca, the logo of the campaign Morocco to get the organization of this important event. This is the first press conference after the appointment of Moulay Hafid Elalamy as chairman of this body.
It thus meets the requirements of FIFA, which insists on respect for every step of the application process and which must "be open to the general public".
Thus, the logo was first unveiled. "Bidding Nation" is the slogan chosen for the visual identity of the Kingdom file, in which the green star, symbol of national unity, occupies a central place, with the leaves of bright red tree, apparently in reference to the plural identity of the Nation.
In the lower part of the logo, there is on the same line a football and the date of 2026, the ultimate goal of the application.
The president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation emphasized in his speech that the 2026 World Cup will be the biggest ever. Forty-eight countries in total will participate - and many more will be able to dream about a qualification. FIFA is aware of its responsibility in this respect and has thus modified the application procedure, focusing on various essential aspects. One of the main elements of the revision of the World Cup host country selection mechanisms is the preservation of the integrity of the procedure, from the beginning to the end of the process. In this regard, the President reminded that Morocco respects all the instructions dictated by FIFA in order to present a qualitative file and within the deadlines. Recall that by the deadline of August 11, FIFA had received two expressions of interest: one filed by the FRMF, the other presented jointly by the Canadian Soccer Association, the Mexican Football Federation and the federation United States football. After a careful review of the nominations working group for the organization of the 2026 World Cup, the validated applications will be presented to the FIFA Council, which will then determine those to be voted on at the FIFA Congress. . In June 2018, the 68th Congress will decide whether to accept one or the other of the candidatures.
