Where do I want to see Frankie Edgar ?

Frankie Edgar is one of my favorite fighters since his second fight with Maynard so it was quite sad for me to see him lose like that against Ortega. Now he is back in the win column with a win against a top 5 fighter so where does he go from here?

I would say change weight class to get a title fight (bantamweight division) or to give the fans some compelling fights (lightweight division).

Why not stay at featherweight?

OK, so, possible WORTHY fights in the featherweight division.

Max Holloway for the belt. Hell no, Max is an amazing talented young fighter in his prime and actually pretty big for a featherweight, I really don't want to see Frankie getting destroyed again. Does he have a chance? Sure, Frankie is one of the greats but I would give him not more than a 10% chance of capturing the belt against Holloway.

Rematch with Ortega. Another huge featherweight who already destroyed him? Please no.

Jose Aldo. They already fought twice, I don't want to see that fight again and beating Aldo now doesn't really do anything for his legacy, sure getting one back at him would be good and I guess that he would care but I really believe there are better fights to make.

OK, done with featherweight. Bantamweight would be my first choice. What's better than getting another belt where he actually got a great chance to make it happen???? Winner of TJ vs Cody, please Dana make it happen.

So who in the lightweight should he fight? Of course I don't want to see him anywhere near Khabib or Ferguson but there are quite a few compelling fights against smaller lightweights.

Eddie Alvarez. Former Bellator and UFC lightweight champ vs former UFC lightweight champ. Should I add anything else? No right?

Nate Diaz. Yes I know he is not a small lightweight, actually pretty big but he is not that strong and powerful and this fight always intrigued me. Can Nate keep it standing? And if yes how Frankie's boxing is going to fare against Nate's. If Frankie can take him down, is he going to be able to defend submissions and do damage? God if I want to see this fight.

Anthony Pettis. Another former champ vs former champ fight and this fight was actually going to happen but it never did (thank you Maynard, not complaining that third fight was amazing too).

Conor McGregor. Yes. YES. YES I said it. I know Conor is way bigger than Frankie but I'm still not sold on Conor. I believe Frankie got a huge chance of beating him with his take downs and gnp, too bad this fight will never happen. It's all your fault Nate but thank you and I was also "not surprised motherfuckers".

Looking forward to see Frankie's next fight. Who would you like to see him fight next?

I would like to see Edgar drop down as well. Age catches up with everyone and it's peaking around the corner looking at Edgar. I would like to see him drop down before a drastic drop in his reflexes / skill that comes with age.

I also want to see him against Conor as well ... I got Edgar in that one. I am not sold on Conor either. Conor is a good fighter and a great self promoter. He beat Mendes when Mendes had little to no time to prepare for the fight and Conor himself had a full camp. He flashed KO'd Aldo ( a very impressive win ) and then went 1-1 with Nate Diaz to " earn " a title shot at LW. Conor has had some great circumstances surrounding him and his fights.

I agree with everything you said bro

He has had such terrible luck at featherweight, seemed like a given he'd have been champion when he dropped down.

I can't see him being able to hang with Conor or Nate. I think he used to be so far ahead of the curve he could overcome the size disadvantages through skill, now the games evolved and these guys are equally skilled but also bigger.

I don't know man, when he dropped down I didn't think that he could beat Aldo...

Conor is a great striker and that's it, he is not well rounded, I can totally see Frankie taking him down and keep him there.
