1917 Birth of the first Mouloudia in Algeria
The Mouloudia Club of Oran is inspired by a club that was founded on Monday 1st January 1917 in the Medina Jedida district, located at 19 bd of the South, Mouloudia Muslim Club of Oran (MCM Oran). The club was declared officially on December 4, 1919, by Lahouari Orfi, who was one of the first referees of the French Football Federation (FFF). MCM Oran is also the first club in Algeria and North Africa Having borne the name of Mouloudia. This appointment is at the origin of his declaration date coinciding with the eve of the Muslim Feast of the Mawlid (celebration of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad), given that the date of 4 December 1919 corresponded to 11 Rabia al Awal 1335 according to The Hegira calendar, that is to say, the eve of the celebration of the birth of the prophet who was born on the 12th Rabia al-awal2,3.
Ali Bentouti, one of the founders of the Mouloudia Club of Oran in 1946 in the El-Hamri district (eg Lamur), was among the players in the club. The MCM Oran disappeared in 1926 by merging with other clubs of the city of Oran to create the legendary team of the USM Oran
