Are you a true fan? - by @thedogekid

What makes for a true fan?

That is a question I find myself faced with as I discuss our favorite sports teams with my friends.

For them, they are disgusted by what goes on in the NBA, not the play itself, but the part where teams intentionally lose games in order to hopefully get a higher draft pick in order to better compete in the future.

There is no sure fire way to building a contending team, but this is one avenue for sure.

Things to change shortly?

The current incentive to intentionally lose games looks to be replaced at least somewhat in the future as the odds of getting the number one draft pick with the worst record goes down slightly with the new rules set to be implemented starting next year.

While that won't prevent teams from tanking entirely, it will certainly make it less likely that you get handsomely rewarded for intentionally losing games.

Which beaings me back to my original question...

What makes for a true fan?

Does a true fan intentionally root for his team to lose so that they can hopefully be better in the future?

Or does a true fan root for his team to win no matter the costs and no matter the odds?

That has been the debate between my friends and I the last couple of days, what do you say?

So nice guy☆You should emulate him.haha...

I think a true sports fan is one that follows their team passionately but also isn't afraid to criticise them when they're not performing.

I also believe that you root for your team to win no matter what the odds may be!

a true fan just enjoys the game for the sake of the game. The rules, the structure and the passion to create scores of defense of scores is all subjective through players, coaches and refrees. There is a thin line between love and hate but you should root for the team you believe in. Hating on another team is just hating, the NBA is weird right now. Never thought I would want the Bulls to tank so they can get a better draft pick or chance at a top pick. Look at the 76ers, it worked this team is stacked! Don't know how you change it?
