700 paddlers from different cities will contend the Cebu City Dragonboat Regatta 2019 which will be held on May 4 to 5 at Bayfront Il Corso Mall, SRP. The participants are divided in various team (Chasin Dragons-JP Morgan, Bugsay Marajao, One Piece Dragon Sangres, Bagsik Dragon Boat Team, Bohol Paddlers Association Inc.,Braveheart Dragonboat Team, Black Manta Warriors, Father Saturnino Urios DB Team, Umagu and CDO PWD. Mizuchi DBT Racing Team, Bugsay San Carlos, Poseidon, SJ Banati, Triton, Dauis, Shangrila Mac Dragons, Kujaw Tiger Dragons, Naga Bugsay, and Army Dragons of Manila are also in the list.)
The participants originated from various urban areas like Tacloban, Negros Occidental, Cebu City, Surigao del Sur, Lapu-Lapu City, Surigao City, Cagayan de Oro City, Dumaguete City, Butuan and Manila. The categories for this event are the following: youth women small boat, 200-meter premier open small boat, youth open small boat, premier mixed small boat, youth mixed small boat, premier women small boat, and inter-city paradragon championship small boat. The champion for the premier open small boat, premier mixed and premier women category will win Php 20,000, Php 15,000 for the second place and Php 10,000 for third place. The event was organize by PADS (Philippine Accessible Disability Services Inc) and Cebu City Government.
