Like you are right on the mountain! And flying over the mountain too! Come join @summerstime, @docroulston and me on the mountain with the rest of the crew (not on Steem yet) as we tear some new lines and enjoy the time away from work. We cherish every moment as a group together, as we have not all been together in such a manner since high school.
I may have lost my phone on the trip with a lot of decent photos and film, but I managed to capture a tremendous amount of footage with the GoPro.
We arrived Wednesday to Diana's Bath, New Hampshire at 2:30PM after leaving at 4:30AM from home in Southeastern Pennsylvania. The guys climbed a portion of Humphrey's ledge while I flew the birdcam.
Thursday we skied Loon Mountain. It was an ice-fest. This later part of the season can be hit or miss with snow for the Northeast, and this year has been kind of shoddy. Although there was indeed natural snow on the ground in New Hampshire when we arrived, there hadn't been any fresh deposits in a such a long time that the existing snow pack had been scraped away to ice. We lost Morris that day on the very first run, he fell behind and must have taken a wrong turn back to the other lifts. It was much unfortunate, as Morris is still learning and could use a partner to ski with for safety reasons. I felt pretty bad all day about not being able to find him. Eventually we met up with just enough time for one more lift up the mountain and so we did. Decent day.
Friday we traveled to Eastern Maine near the town of Newry, to ski Sunday River, which has the reputation as being one of the best locations on the East Coast. And I would certainly say it lived up to the hype.
This place was huge! With seven peaks to ski, there was terrain for all difficulties, and even had fresh snow! They boast about their state-of-the-art snow making system. And they also had night skiing which is a plus in any ones book.
I lost my phone on one of the last runs of the night, when I removed it from my jacket to warm up under my armpit. I forgot I had removed it after the 12 minute ride and conversation with the locals and thus it must have fallen into the snow on the way down the mountain... UGH how foolish! But all is well.
We even returned to Sunday River on Saturday. Not only because the chance to recover my phone, but simply because they did indeed have the best snow, the most snow and open trails and night skiing. We figured it would be our best best. Other mountains we risk not having enough snow for a fully open mountain. So no film from Friday's skiing, but tons from Saturday at Sunday River.
Sunday we packed up and headed home. I hiked by myself to Diana's Bath behind the rental we were staying in on Sunday morning. I will make a separate video for that, as this one was getting a bit long.
Don't be afraid to skip ahead, I think Saturday's skiing is more eventful, but every day has its moments.
Falls and crashes mixed in throughout. I myself had a few mishaps as camera-man, but managed to always stay up off the ground. Only when @summerstime deliberately tackled me from behind did I fall.
Enjoy!
Well done mi amigo! Loved every bit of it, especially the parts that I'm in

Did you shoot the opening scenes with a drone? I saw the tree on the cliff that you sent me in #untamednature
