Arsene Wenger is rumored to close his decision to resign as manager of Arsenal at the end of this season. A row of players, called not catch a signal or before hearing the grapevine, Wenger will submit his resignation on Friday morning local time.
The new Arsene Wenger delivered his resignation just moments before the news came to the public, in a brief meeting, at Arsenal's training center in London Colney.
Reportedly, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang et al. to his amazement at the manager's statement. Per Mertesacker reveals the players are quite emotional.
"We are given basic information, just emotional and there will be time to digest all of this, but right now our feelings are sad," Mertesacker said.
In particular, the London Cannon defender called Wenger's services against him. "He trusted me so much in my career, brought me here, gave me a chance to play and make me a captain, even when I was injured," he said.
"It is a sad day for me, but we are also stepping for the future," continued the player whose contract at Arsenal ended the 2017-2018 season.
"There are challenges, ups and downs, but how he went through a difficult time taught me many things about his character and how to trust people, put people in the right position for success."
"He gave us the opportunity to explore himself to be successful, and he always managed to get the team around him to succeed," he continued.
"The memories of winning the title with him that brings joy to many, something he's done for years, is a great achievement," added the 33-year-old defender.
Wenger has been sitting in the seat of manager of Arsenal since October 1996 and is the most successful manager in the club's history.
However, later achievement sluggish, making some fans urged him back. Arsene Wenger also decided to leave the London Cannon at the end of the 2017-2018 season although the contract is still left a year longer.
