Today I’ll tell you about my racing watch :-)
I'm using it since 5 months and I would like to sum up...
I have the "FitBit Ionic" model, arrived after bringing the FitBit Blaze to the end of his life...
But let's start with the aesthetic aspect.
As for everything, to each his own. As far as I'm concerned it was love at first sight. The colour I chose was Slate/Burned Earth, I wanted something colourful...
The watch, ordered by the FitBit website, arrived in 3 days: a wonderful packaging with two straps of different sizes!!! The magnet loader and the various instruction booklets for installation.
Here, the installation, how to say... it wasn't the fastest. It took quite some time: I had to download the fitbit app to my phone, registering in, synchronizing the watch with the app, waiting for the information to pass on to each other... and, once it came to the end, not everything worked properly.
It counted steps at random, it did not synchronize the water drunk and during the run it stopped at his leisure losing data. However, things were resolved in a couple of days thanks to the "timely and very kind" technical assistance. Now no problem: everything works great!!!
The tracker has a integrated gps that records all the data in an excellent way (route map, time per kilometre, steps, cardio, calories burned) and I can leave the phone at home when I run.
The distances have a minimum error ranging from 20 to 50 meters over a distance of 12 kilometers, nothing practically, and the vibration every kilometer shows the summary of the route. The cardio sensor also works great. I also tested it with the one on professional gym treadmills and the two matched perfectly.
Ionic can do many things. I like the sleep control, it gives you different data including nocturnal awakenings, REM phase, light sleep and heavy sleep. Then you can connect BT headphones, upload music directly to your watch or use Deezer-type apps to listen music while you are running or not; monitoring various types of training (I use running but there is an endless list including swimming because it is underwater, trekking, weights and many more).
Alarm clock, Timer, an various choice of dials, the weather, receiving various notifications like whatsapp or calls and almost everything that comes to mind...
Home page always available the time, steps, calories burned and heart rate.
For geeks there are a multitude of downloadable apps directly from the fitbit app including wallet, flashlight, home connect to control Alexa, agenda, spotify, maps, the mythical snake:-), news and finance and many others especially related to sports.
Infinite battery with everything active. I always keep the cardio detector and I run with active gps and I forget to recharge it, less bad that it alerts me with an email when it is unloaded :-). It lasts from 4 to 5 days without problems and the charge is still immediate, the time of a shower and the FitBit is already ready for new "adventures".
The Ionic interfaces with the fitbit application. You can choose continuous and automatic synchronization or synchronize when you open the app.
In the app you can find a whole social world where people exchange information and opinions ranging from various types of sports to healthy or vegetarian cuisine or anything else that can come to mind.
"What's interesting about the Steemit world is the easy-to-sync Compatibility with Actifit so you don't miss a single step."
It has a female session: "Monitoring women's health" (clearly never tried :))
Versus: immediately I noticed the slightly domed screen, so impossible to apply protective films but then wandering on the internet I found silicone cases in 3 different colors (transparent, silver, black) paid less than 5 euros, which in my opinion are even more protective than standard film. If we really want to be finicky you lose in aesthetics, but the smartwatch has a full protection... However, I do not use it in the water to avoid to disassemble everything to dry it (I am lazy ahahahah, it really take only 2 minutes).
Other negative notes...
You can answer or reject a call but you can't talk through the smartwatch (sincerely I do not care).
I remind you it's a sports watch, so all those sophisticated things of the most famous smartwatches doesn't have them: it doesn't take pictures, it doesn't even see them, you can't talk to it, it doesn’t even listen to you :-)
It does what it's designed for: SPORT!
I'm having a hard time finding real flaws, maybe if you have any questions, ask them below and I'll be happy to answer them.
"Final considerations:"
Despite the small initial problems, however solved very fast, the Smartwatch works great. It does its duty and the price is approachable... money are well spent for people who play a lot of sports like me... The bright screen is visible in all conditions, it is sturdy the straps are interchangeable, and I would not switch it for anything in the world, for now, I remember that I use it for about 5 months.
Beautiful object. I appreciate the design. Nice post, complete with information.
