Schedule Preview & Breakdown
Fremantle v North Melbourne at Optus Stadium on Sunday Afternoon
Apart from West Coast no team has knocked Fremantle off here so the inform Kangaroos will face a real test.
The Kangas were brilliant in adapting better to the windy conditions of Bellerive Oval last week and comprehensively beating GWS in the end.
The Kangaroos twin towers of Waite and Brown kicked 9 goals between them last week and this could spell real trouble for the Dockers if they lose Key Defender Hamling through concussion.
This game will decided by the Midfield battle and namely a certain Nat Fyfe.
Fyfe is a one man army this year and is a clearance beast as well as an aerial threat.
He will be well supported by the elite Lachie Neale and the speedy Walters who will both also have a big say in the Dockers Fortunes.
Jacobs for North has been back to his elite tagging best this year and it will be interesting to see if he goes to Fyfe or to Neale.
One player I would prefer to see go head to head with Fyfe is Cunnington who has been a beast in the stoppages himself this season and recently broke the record for the most contested possessions in a match.
A Fyfe v Cunnington war in the clinches would be worth the price of admission alone.
I think the Dockers will get on top in the Midfield as they are starting to get some decent depth in there and the home ground advantage is a big factor but they will need more from their Forwards if they are to win this game.
Norths big two Forwards can be banked on to get goals but McCarthy, Matera and Ballantyne are not as reliable.
The Dockers would not want this to turn into a shootout that's for sure.
I am going to back them in to grind out an ugly win at home.
Prediction: Dockers by 12 points
Melbourne v Adelaide Crows at Traeger Park, Alice Springs on Sunday afternoon
3rd meet 4th here in the match of the Round that will be sure to thrill the Alice Springs crowd.
If this game was at the MCG the Demons would be favourites but the neutral ground makes it very interesting.
Both teams are coming off a strong win last week.
The Crows despite being undermanned adapted to the wet conditions a lot better than the Dogs and were too strong for them in the end.
The Demons completely dismantled Carlton by 109 points and have now won 4 in a row.
The Crows are a chance to regain All Australian Midfielder Matt Crouch this week but will still be without his brother Brad, Sloane, McGovern and skipper Tex Walker.
The Crows Midfield depth this year as been outstanding with Ellis-Yolman and Greenwood taking their games to another level to cover for the absence of some of their stars.
Bryce Gibbs has been exceptional since crossing over from the Blues and with Matt Crouch returning the
Demons won't enjoy the same dominance in the middle of the park that they have had of late.
This game will also be interesting for Lever as it is his first match against his old side.
Lever was terrific last week and was selected in the team of the week.
It is a timely return to form for Lever as he will be called on to shut down a lot of the Crows aerial attacks.
Adelaide will rely heavily on Jenkins as the only tall this week up Forward and will need him to create a contest to at least bring the ball to ground for their dangerous Small Forwards.
Betts v Jetta will be an interesting match up and Eddie is back in form so Jetta will need to be on his toes.
I just like the Demons Forward set up more than the Crows in this one and I think their tall combination of
Hogan and Mcdonald will contribute heavily in them kicking a winning score.
Prediction: Melbourne by 10 points
