The Masters with Paradise-found: Preview

When: April 5-8, 2018
Where: Augusta National Golf Club, Augusta, Ga.

Tradition

The Masters is the only men's major golf championship played at the same course each year - making Augusta National Golf Club home to the most tradition rich event in golf. The British Open is older, and the US Open certainly has prestige, but the Masters rules tradition. All the greatest players have won here: Jones, Hogan, Snead, Palmer, Player, Nicklaus, and Watson.

Each year we are reacquainted with "Amen Corner," "Raes Creek," and all the spring flowers each hole is named after. From the pre-tournament Champions Dinner, the Opening Tee shots by legendary past champions, to the victor slipping into the Green Jacket, the Masters is a tradition unlike any other.

Players to watch & odds to win according to sportsbook.ag

An impressive track record at the Masters makes 24 year old Jordan Spieth (12-1) a contender to win each year. Past champions, Phil Mickelson (16-1) and Bubba Watson(14-1), who have won multiple Masters titles, could challenge again. The comeback of Tiger Woods (17-2) is also a major story line in 2018, but can he win a 5th green jacket? The Vegas odds makers think he has a chance. What do all these players have in common? They are bombers off the tee and have very good touch around the lightening fast greens at Augusta National.

Historically, Americans have won 59 of the 81 Masters events, however the last two champions have broken this trend. 2016 Champion Danny Willet (275-1) is from England and 2017 Champion Sergio Garcia (28-1) hails from Spain. In recent years, other foreigners who have been close, but no cigar, include Justin Rose (14-1) of England and Jason Day (16-1) of Australia. These two have major titles on their shelves but no Green Jackets in the closet.

Other stars who would fit the profile for winning at the Masters include Dustin Johnson (8-1), Rory McIlroy (9-1), Justin Thomas (8-1), Jon Rahm (18-1), Rickie Fowler (20-1), and Patrick Reed (40-1).

Care to take a flyer on a long shot that has been playing well lately? Here are two names for you to consider, Branden Grace and Rafael Cabrera Bello, both with 100-1 odds.
