A strange occurrence has happened in the Pacific Divison this evening. After Edmonton and Calgary both won their games, three Canadian teams sit 1,2,3 in the division. I can't remember the last time this would have happened. Maybe some point before the Pacific Division even existed. All three of these clubs missed the playoffs last season, which is an accomplishment considering half the teams in the league make the playoffs each year. On top of that I can't remember the last year that all three teams made the playoffs. I looked it up and you have to go all the way back to the 90-91 season. I'm guessing a lot of you weren't even alive back then. (I was because I'm old as shit)
I would absolutely love it if both the Flames and Oiler's made the playoffs in the same season. I would love it even more if the two teams got to play each other in the playoffs. I can't even imagine what it would be like for the Oiler's to play against two Canadian opponents in the playoffs.
I need to settle down a bit since we aren't even a quarter of the way through the season but just let a man dream for a minute!
