Lorenz Larkin makes his third appearance in the Bellator cage tomorrow night at Bellator 193 against Fernando Gonzalez at the Pechanga Resort and Casino. I just wrote a small preview piece over at Frontproof Media about how winning tomorrow night could mean a title shot for either man this year. That was before Gonzalez missed weight again at today's weigh-ins. The fight was at catchweight and at 180 pounds in the main event, Gonzalez came in at 180.3 so he was fines 20% of his show money and another 20% of his potential win money.
So even if Gonzalez does win, is he going to be able to make it for a title fight? I doubt it. This is where being a professional comes in and although there is a lot of uproar about weight cutting in the sport of MMA, some make the numbers and some try like hell even if they fail. Larkin has had a tough run since coming to Bellator from the UFC but a win over Gonzalez might not put him where he wants to be.
It isn't his fault either, he is obviously trying to rack up wins since he's been there. This is his third fight with Bellator since making his debut last June. That's three fights in eight months, it has to be taking a toll on the man. How do you think he will do tomorrow night?
