I just put my short preview of UFC Fight Night 125 up on Frontproof Media and it was a little rough to write because I'm a big fan of Lyoto Machida's. But, you cannot deny that when fighters are over 35 years-old (and that's pushing it in the fight game) they need to start thinking about closing out their careers. Machida lost the last three in a row, the last two were by KO and Anders holds most of his wins by way of KO or TKO. He even called out Machida for this event so either he wants to test himself, or thinks Machida is an easy fight.
Machida seems to like that though and thinks Anders' style is right up his alley for his karate roots according to the video below:
"He needs to be careful what he wishes for."-Lyoto Machida
As a martial artist from the old school, I'm rooting for Machida to win but if I'm being honest and objective I think his chances are rough. What do you guys think?
I have to agree with all your points and still go with Machida. His veteran savvy and ground game is gonna be the edge I think.

I also think "home field advantage" has something to do with a fighters performance on fight night. Machida needs a win and he probably feels better about earning one on his native soil.
