Anderson Silva versus Israel Adesanya. The Twilight Zone fight. steemCreated with Sketch.

What a cool fight, fun to watch. A historical fight to be honest.

There wasn't a spectacular finish or anything and in a way that makes me happy.

Israel is an up and coming awesome MMA fighter. A dynamic kickboxing style with some similarities to the legend Anderson Silva.

They have similar heights and even similar personalities. They're flashy and a bit cocky. Many consider this fight a mirror fight, because they're so alike.

Israel openly admitted he was a huge fan of Anderson while growing up. It must have been trippy to fight an idol like that.

Anderson had been out of the fight game for about two years. Before the fight, at an interview before the weigh in Anderson Silva started crying. I don't personally know a definite reason as to why but I think it was because of the layoff and now finally being able to fight. Also he's 43 and must know the end if his career approaches.

After Anderson was interviewed Israel also was practically crying because of listening to Anderson.

Such an eerie connection between two fighters I have never seen before.

Silva is a bit older and so he isn't in his prime anymore. But this fight was very competitive. All they did was strike, so Anderson stood a chance.

They both traded shots and danced around the octagon constantly trying to get the better of one another.

They flexed and showboated versus eachother, like friggin twins or something.

Or it's a glitch in the matrix.

Israel was mostly winning, but really only by a shade. I was so impressed with how well Silva performed against this significantly younger version of himself. He really competed very well against a kid that many thought would wipe the floor with him.

So yes the young Israel did win but not by any dominant performance, more of a slick point victory. Still impressive.

After the fight Israel was super honorable and respectful towards Anderson. A wonderful display of sportsmanship.

I believe Israel can learn a lot from a fight like this. Maybe mix in wrestling or something like that. Whittaker and Gastelum are good wrestlers.

I don't know, no matter what Israel has a bright future and I'm a fan. Great and funny personality.

This was indeed a mirror fight if I've ever seen one. The only reason it's so epic is because I believe Israel has a bright future.

Since Anderson performed pretty solidly at the age of 43 everything that Israel accomplishes will be intriguing when considering how legendary Silva is and the circumstances of when he fought Israel.

Twilight Zone Time Capsule Fight.
