Gregor Schlierenzauer almost ties the world record for longest ski jump at 253.5 m in Planica (gifs)

in sports •  7 years ago  (edited)

Gregor Schlierenzauer equaled the previous world record at 253.5 m (832 ft) in Planica, Slovenia but skidded during the landing as you can see in the gifs so it doesn't count. Planica is a legendary ski jumping (flying) hill in Slovenia where first ski jumps over 200 meters (656 ft) were achieved. The current world record was set in Vikersund, Norway last year by Stefan Kraft.
