Miguel Cabrera hopes to return to the field on Saturday, after leaving Thursday's game due to a discomfort in the hip, according to a MLB.com report.
Manager Ron Gardenhire pulled Cabrera out of the game against the White Sox in Chicago before the start of the second inning, after the maracayero felt stiffness in the flexor muscle of the left hip.
Cabrera singled to center field and after crossing the first base aggressively, stumbled and fell flat on his face. Although he got up and finished the whole inning, he was replaced by Niko Goodrum in the second inning.
Detroit has a free day this Friday so his star will not lose playing time.
"I feel better at this moment," said Cabrera after the game, which won the Tigres 9-7, in 10 chapters. "I scraped my hip a bit with the floor. I felt that it was getting a little tight (the hip) when I was playing defense (during the next half of the inning). So I decided to talk to the trainer and leave the game because I do not want to absent myself in any game. "
