The cyclists at the this year's Giro d'Italia are climbing up Etna today. Jan Polanc from Slovenia is in the lead less than 14 kilometers before the finish line. His lead is 36 seconds.
Will He Survive The Tremendous Climb And Manage To Reach The Finish First?
Quick update - 13.1 km to go the lead is 44 seconds. Come on, Jan, you can do it!!!
Update #2 - 10.7 km and still 44 seconds in the lead.
Update #3 - 7.8 km to go things have changed behind Jan Polanc. His lead is now 2:46. Is it enough?
Update #4 - 3 km and 1:44 ahead. It is only 300 meters on a road but the hill is so steep ... No recreational cyclist would ride up this mountain.
Update %4 - 2 km and 1:06. The group is closing on Jan who is giving his best.
YES! YES! YES. JAN DID IT!
Jan Polanc managed to bring home 11 seconds and Etna is his. Huge congratulations for this heroic effort!
