Chidi Okezie opened up Nigeria's campaign today at the World Indoor Championships while Patience Okon-George who would have been the favourite to win her heat did not start her race.
The race was a good one for Chidi as he finished 3rd in his 400m heat in a time of 46.91s, he led the chasing pack through 200m but was pipped into 3rd place by Jamaica's Javon Francis who ran 46.87s while Luka Janezic won the heat in 46.45s.
