If they lose, it will likely be because they underperformed (which has happened too often during the postseason, already).
But just in case Karma matters, here are some people who MUST be present at the game tonight, as the Celtics continue their efforts to repeat the achievements of the immortal 2004 Red Sox:
Derek Jeter and A-Rod. The Celtics comeback began when these veterans/goats of the 2004 Yankees came to Game 4. Coincidence? I think not!
Bucky "F-ing" Dent. Despite (or perhaps because of) his role in the infamous 1978 playoff game, Dent has been a huge good luck charm for Boston more recently. He threw out the first ball in Game 7 of the 2004 ALCS, did the same thing in Game 4 of the 2018 ALDS (also a huge win for the Sox over the Yankees) and was in the stands during the 2021 AL wild card game (ditto). The Red Sox and Celtics should hire him to be their playoff mascot!
Every member of the 2004 Red Sox that can be found (I think this is actually being done!). Sadly, however, David Ortiz has a commitment in the Dominican Republic.
