recruiting rankings --by establishing himself as a big-time scorer. But the 6-foot-6 wing man from Wesleyan Christian Academy in High Point, N.C., is known more for his soft touch and versatile offensive skill set and defense more than explosive leaping ability -- until Saturday night anyway.

Wiggins, the nation's No. 48 recruit in the Class 2018, threw down the dunk of the day (see video below) in his team's semifinal win over the DC Blue Devils, sweeping into the lane with his left (and his off) hand, rising up and then spiking it with his right, on top of a leaping defender.

“All I was thinking was ‘Attack the paint,” Wiggins, who committed to Maryland in June, told USA Today. “There was no hedge by the big so I had the lane down the middle and I took it. I went up to dunk and all I see is the defender trying to contest so I dunked on him too.”7_7463868.png
