Kylian Mbappe seems set to become the first player to cost over 100 million pounds.
At just 18 years of age the newly capped french international is the hottest property in world football and on the face of it has the footballing world at his feet.
The striker started off in the youth ranks at AS Bondy before making the leap to Monaco in 2013, where he is now a regular in the first team. He has represented France at Under-17 and Under-19 level and recently became the second youngest player to debut for France's first team.
The wonderkid burst onto the scene when he became Monaco’s youngest ever player at the age of 16 years 347 days, breaking Henry’s record set 21 years ago.
He certainly ticks all the boxes - he has electric pace, vision, good positional sense and is lethal in front of goal. At his tender age he has already won a league title and has Champions League experience.
Europe's elite clubs are fighting to sign him with Real Madrid, PSG and Arsenal already tabling record bids for his signature. The club he chooses could well decide whether he reaches the heights he is no doubt capable of.
Real Madrid
European and La-Liga champions, the best squad in world football and with Ronaldo seemingly on is way out the timing would be perfect for him to cement a starting berth in the squad. Would he be able to handle the pressure that comes with being Real Madrid?
Arsenal
The also-rans of the premier and champions league have never had a consistent 25+ goal a season striker since Thierry Henry. Mbappe would almost certainly be guaranteed a spot in the starting 11 and would get quality service from the likes of Ozil and Sanchez. Though with his similarities in style to Henry it would be hard to stop the comparisons and for him to be his own player.
PSG
Steadily becoming a force in European football and building a squad capable to beating any team they could also be option. Their dynamic style of play and the fact that he is already accustomed to Ligue 1 would make for an easier switch. That said a move from Monaco to rivals PSG seems unlikely.
Is he worth the figures being mentioned or will he like so many before him flatter to deceive?
