Luka Modric inherited the number 10 back at Real Madrid, the decision came after the previous owner James Rodriguez chose to leave from the Santiago Bernabeu in the European summer transfer market this year.
Quoted from // Four Four Two //, Sunday (23/7) Rodriguez's decision also made the club management update the list of players' back numbers. Modric, originally dressed in number 19, was appointed to bequeath the 'No. 10', which traditionally is usually worn by creative middle players.

In the last decade the number 10 in Madrid has gone off harshly, ranging from Robinho, Wesley Sneijder, Mesut Oziel, and lastly James Rodriguez not able to show satisfactory performance. Whereas previously the number 10 back Madrid filled by the best faces like Michael Laudrup, Ferenc Puskas, Luis Figo, and Clarence Seedrof.
The world of the round skin is currently like folding uniform number 10. El Real's star player using the number 7 backs of Cristiano Ronaldo and 11 Garteh Bale, the role of fantasista was replaced with a good dribel dribel and can comb the field take turns.
Reflecting on the Italian Serie A competition, the altar worship of the number 10 or known as 'Il Dieci', is a player who is freed from many tasks in order to make one thing, namely fantasize (art), the creed that once made the papal nobleman ( Roma) chose fantasista like Michaelangelo and Da Vinci.

Can't wait for dis, it's going to be really crazy

..Or Pinturicchio ^ Seriously, i dont know any number 10 player today.
before it was easier. 10 is Del Piero, Baggio, Ronaldinho, Totti ,JJ Okocha... someone who plays the ball, and in same time plays all the other players on the pitch, his players, and opponent players. brain, trick, vision and show. and of course, all the guilt if the team loses.
Modric would be no6 most likely, someone who works for no 10. but theres no such football anymore. No player today would stand on ball and wait in 5m, while Nesta, Maldini, Costacurta or Stam are 2 m behind in full sprint...
Lol half of today`s stars would leave the pitch and switch to beach volleyball if they had chance to meet Stam, Tofting, or Dessaily on pitch.. Can you imagine how hard was to be trequartista and fantasist against Gattuso, or even worse, Davids?
