Golf is Great! — SteemCN

Yes, golf is great. For some. I really love to play golf. I am from New Jersey, USA and I am now retired in the Philippines.
I have been playing golf for about 20 years now and I am still not very good at it. lol But I love being out in nature listening to the birds and people cursing a lot. ahhahaha

Well, in the Philippines people are not like that. At least they don't shout it out. In New Jersey well, different story.
I have seen people break their clubs, drive their golf cart in to the lake, fist fights. Golf is great!

I tried to learn on my own. After hacking up golf courses and much frustration I took a couple of lessons and I got much better. I do recommend taking at least one lesson before attempting this almost impossible sport. The first two years I played about 3 times a week if not more. My scores were sometimes, seldom, ...well better than 80 although I do not hit very far. I dot pretty good due to my stubbornness i think.

My first set of clubs had a wooden driver and wood fairway woods and the irons were forged. The woods were very difficult to hit and I did not know that the irons were worth a lot of money. I gave them away one day. ughhhh
I later purchased cavity back large sized irons with more modern fairway woods and Driver and hit much better. After a while I played 1 or 2 times a week due to work issues. Work was always in the way of golf. heheeh.

I am retired now and I chose my retirement rental home here in the Philippines next to a golf course. The golf course is named "Puerto de Oro" and it is beautiful and nicely kept. In NJ I used to pay about 40 to 70$ per round. Here at Pueblo it costs about 20 dollars per round, Nice!

I also play sometimes at "Del Monte Golf Course" in Bukidnon. Bukidnon is about an hour 15 minutes away but it is much cooler and hardly anyone there. It gets very hot where I live.
One thing... In NJ I never needed a caddy unless I was at a very expensive course. Here in Cagayan de Oro or anywhere in the Philippines you "MUST" have a caddy. It's inexpensive but I am very used to hitting without one. Another thing is that in NJ if you go alone or with someone else you are guaranteed to be paired up with strangers. In the Philippines that never happens. I think it is because there are much less people here that play golf. Golf here is only for the rich. No, I am not rich but everyone here thinks I am.

Let me show you first my HOLE IN ONE! HAAAAAAAAAAA
I got lucky on October 23 2012 at Hanover Golf Course, Hanover NJ 7th hole 146 yards.
I hit her high, the ball hit the front of the green, one bounce and rolled into the hole. I can still see it in my mind.
Actually, these pictures were taken about 2 weeks before Hurricane Sandy.

You can see the ball mark where the ball hit the green.

The next two pictures are of a golf course, I don't remember the name, in Cebu, Philippines. This place was pretty crowded and it cost 5000pesos, 100 dollars to play. Alot!
