Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde has explained the reason why Barcelona lost to AS Roma in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
The coach was of the view that Barcelona's failure to deal with Roma's "aggression" was the main reason why his side was eliminated in the Champions League.
Barcelona blew away a 4-1 advantage in the second leg after goals from Edin Dzeko, Daniele de Rossi and Kostas Manolas were enough for Roma to secure a spot in the semi-final and dumped out Barcelona on away goal rule as Lionel Messi and co couldn’t find the rhythm to the game for the entire 90 minutes.
"The truth is that it was a game in which we couldn't play our football," Valverde said in his postgame news conference. "[Roma] were very aggressive, they played very well and we have to congratulate them.
"Everything went well for them. They scored early and got themselves right back in the tie. Then they scored [again] early in the second half and at no moment were we capable of getting into the game because of how well they played.
"They were aggressive and they took the game in the direction they wanted it to go. It was a bad day for us because couldn't overcome their pressure. You had the sensation that they could get the third goal at any time and in the end

I am a football fan especially FC Barcelona there is one reason why Barca lost. IMO Valverde can't motivate players e.g. L.Suarez and Messi? they was walking on the pitch, no agression and involvement. Probably fans ask themselves why maybe thei are exploited to much cause a coach don't have balls to change sth in this club.
