Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois said the match against Sheriff Tiraspol in the Champions League continued on Thursday (25/11/21) this morning was very important in order to qualify for the round of 16.

"This is an important game for us. There are no easy games at the moment," said Thibaut Courtois, quoted from the club's official website, Wednesday.

The 29-year-old goalkeeper emphasized that his team never thought that the match against the Sheriff would be easy.

He admits the Sheriff has a good defense and often launches a dangerous counter-attack.

"Now there's no such thing as going into the game thinking you're going to beat your opponent easily. We were aware before the previous game that they were good defensively and they launched a quick counter-attack," Courtois insisted.

Courtois explained Real Madrid had to focus and play aggressively, and Los Blancos had to show that they deserved to win at Sheriff Tiraspol.

"We have to be focused, aggressive and go out there to show them that we are here to win," Courtois explained.
