All eight teams have now played their opening round game of the 2017 Confederations Cup. The fight to make the knockout round of the tournament is heating up!

Russia is in the driver's seat in Group A, but Mexico and Portugal loom large in 2nd place. Meanwhile, Chile and Germany didn't look dominant by any means, but did enough to each secure three points. Barring a breakdown, each should advance.

Here are the group standings, remaining opponents and odds of advancing for each team.

These games have been quite competitive - more than I thought they would be.

Also, this hardfork is going to make contests all the more attractive to play - hopefully we can vote you over a $100 bucks each time now.

That will be fun! I will be holding a Wimbledon Challenge next... and have HUGE plans for NFL Season.

Yes!

Wimbledon is right up your alley. I don't think I have seen any contests for tennis so you have a niche there.

Looking forward to those Yuge plans for the NFL season! This platform will probably be crawling with contests once everyone figures out how much their vote is worth now.

What I like about the 2017 Confederations cup is that other than New Zealand anyone of the teams can possibly win it.

I wish I was able to watch some more of these games! I love when countries square off in soccer matches! I get much more into than when club teams do!

I don't even like club soccer. Never watch it... but Team USA? Suddenly I'm running around my house like an idiot.

It is funny how that works! My brothers are like that as well!

@nepd great post keep on steeming bro

I pick Germany, but they have B team. Chile looks strong.

I think Chile stands a chance for this trophy, as I can't see any other team beating them, although not too sure...
