Derek Carr says he will be a Raider "for life" after signing a five-year $125 million contract with the team that drafted him just a few short years ago. The $25 million average is the largest ever for an NFL quarterback.

He will receive a $40 million up front for signing and will receive $69 million over the first three years of the deal.
Carr has been an amazing pickup for the soon to be Las Vegas Raiders, leading to the team to the playoffs before suffering a gruesome leg injury in 2016.
The Raiders' impending move to Las Vegas will eventually save Carr some money, as California's 13% state income tax is not quite as competitive as Nevada's 0%.
He deserves it! I live in Vegas and I hope he can get past the first 3 years of the contract as the stadium wont be be done until then.

And to think, The former GM for my NY Jets , John Idzik passed on Derek Carr because he wanted to see what he had in Geno Smith! Boy did that turn out to be a great decision! lol.
