On the football field, Tim Tebow has always been the center of attention. An amazing college quarterback for the Florida Gators who failed to thrive in the NFL, Tebow turned to the baseball diamond to rejuvenate his career.
In his first at-bat with the Columbia Firelfies - a minor-league affiliate of the New York Mets - Tebow showed off his prodigious strength with an opposite-field two-run blast that wowed fans and players alike.
Once thought of as a gimmick - in 70+ at-bats in the Fall League, Tebow failed to hit a single homerun - Tebow's initial success has given hope to fans of the Mets that they may have found an undervalued gem. Perhaps this is less "Michael Jordan with the White Sox" than previously expected.
Very interesting. I didn't even know about that!
