NBA Power Ranking for 2017-2018 Top 5
No. 1 — Golden State Warriors
There’s no surprise here. The Warriors were able to keep all of their key players, after taking back the championship from Cleveland. Golden State has improved during free agency with the addition of two more 3-point shooters in Nick Young and Omri Casspi.
No. 2 — Cleveland Cavaliers
While I feel, the Cavs haven’t improved so far during free agency. The Cavs have been one of the losers of free agency. However, the Eastern Conference has lost some notable players. Cleveland needs to improve a lot if they want to take down the bullies from the bay area.
No. 3 — Houston Rockets
With the addition of Chris Paul how will coach Mike D’Antoni manage to split the time of running the point. We all know how great of a point guard Chris Paul is. We all saw what kind of numbers James Harden, was putting up last year running the point.
No. 4 — San Antonio Spurs
With the addition of Rudy Gay, I believe the Spurs have gotten better. If Gay can stay healthy it would give the Spurs that length and athleticism they need on the wing to compete with Golden State. San Antonio just needs to hope that Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker return next season.
No. 5 — Boston Celtics
Brad Stevens might not have 5 positions anymore, but he does have all-star Gordon Hayward. After finishing the season as the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference last season one can only imagine how great they will be this upcoming season. Even though, Boston has traded Avery Bradley for salary cap reasons.
