Zack Greinke made seven brilliant innings, Ketel Marte homered and the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the San Francisco Giants 3-1 on Thursday to win their sixth series in a row.

Greinke (2-1) allowed a fly near Brandon Belt but did not give more freedoms. He admitted only three hits and stitched his second consecutive win.

A.J. Pollock shook a solitary homer against Ty Black (1-3) and Mars also missed the ball with no men on the bases, for Arizona to win two of three games for the Giants. The Diamondbacks had never started a campaign with more than two series won in a row.

Brad Boxberger forced Belt to raise a balloon with two outs in the ninth inning. He credited his fifth consecutive rescue in the beginning of the season, one night after allowing Belt to shake a home run that produced the advantage race in the tenth inning.

For the Giants, Venezuelans Gregor Blanco 3-1, Gorkys Hernandez 3-0, Pablo Sandoval 1-0.

For the Diamondbacks, the Venezuelan David Peralta 4-1 with one pushed. The Dominican Mars of 4-1 with one annotated and one produced.grandes ligas.jpg
