This article is making the rounds. If you are going to argue for trans inclusion in sports do not do it by ignoring what is clear to just about everyone that males have significant physical advantages over females. Most of us have a story confirming that.
My story is that when I was 15 I wanted to go out for the track team. Problem is that my best event was a triple jump. At the time they did not offer the triple jump in Texas for boys but they did for girls. I used to make jumps in my yard and measured the distance. When I did not know how well I would do against other boys so I looked up the state records for girls. I saw that my jumps (I think they were in the mid '40s) were competitive with those records.
So a 10th-grade boy with no real training (not offered to me since I could not compete in that sport officially) was matching the state records for girls who have been training for who knows how long. That is not about socialization or training. That is pure athleticism from someone who could not make the varsity track team in the long jump.
I could talk about playing basketball against division 1 players and other events in my life but that example sticks out to me the most. The bottom line is that women cannot compete with men in purely athletic competition. To ignore that reality to support trans rights is just plain foolishness.
