What Landon Collins brings to the Washington Redskins, will it be enough to make a playoff push?

Landon Collins, 25, Safety for the Washington Redskins started his NFL career with the New York Giants and recorded over 400 tackles, and has picked off 8 passes in his 4 seasons with the Giants. Collins grew up watching Sean Taylor and ever since then he became a Redskins fan and wanted to play for them, so now being able to step on the field that his role model once played on is a dream come true for Collins. The impact Collins will have will be immediate as he is a great locker room presence great leader, and ultimately will make this defense that was ranked 17th in pass defense much better as he brings speed, aggressiveness, willingness to win. Strong Safety or “box safety” is often a term people say to describe his position which a lot of fans don’t like. Collins is more than a box safety he has elite athleticism at his position, great ball skills, great form tackler, great energy; people say that the deal he got from the Redskins will impact his play on the field as he signed a 6 year $84million deal with them on March 6th, making him the highest paid safety in the NFL. Collins will now have the opportunity to prove the haters wrong and that he deserves this money. Now the question remains, will this Redskins defense with newly acquired Landon Collins be able to overcome the mediocrity this team has had for the past 2 seasons as they went 7-9 in 2017 and 2018. Will this be the year of change for Washington? Will they finally overcome all of the injuries and make a playoff push in 2019? When healthy I’m going with yes, why? They had a top 5 defense when they were healthy and then the team had major injuries and their season ended just like that as they had 25 players on IR last year, key for Washington to make the playoffs is to stay healthy in 2019 will they be able to? I think they make the playoffs when healthy and if they get the offensive weaponry and get this “Big Splash” at receiver they have a shot to make the playoffs.
