The Superbowl used to be the highlight of the sports year in America... Television advertisements during halftime were almost reason enough to on their own and were among the most expensive airtime there was/is. Now the NFL has become a symbol of everything that's wrong with America... a bunch of overpaid assgrabbing crybabies playing a child's sport spitting on the country that gave them opportunity. Millionaires living the high life in mansions who have no respect for either their country or the people that gave their lives that they might enjoy their expensive cars and multi-million dollar homes.
The Philadelphia Eagles, to make matters worse chose this garbage as their "anthem," for the pre- game.
All I see coming from the NFL is pampered wannabe thugs and a commissioner too much a coward to say anything about it. Commissioner Goodell, you and the rest of your league are America's shame!

I agree. I'm not watching them either. Basically, while I believe in freedom of speech, I don't believe that people have the "right" to express themselves in any way they choose while they are at their job.
The NFL, which apparently now stands for "National Felons' League" made a very poor business decision to allow these millionaire crybabies to spit on their customer base.
Put it this way. Would you still walk into your local coffee shop to buy an overpriced cup of mediocre coffee if every time you entered, one of the employees was intentionally rude to you? What if the employee flipped you off? What if you told the owner and instead of firing the employee or demanding the employee apologize immediately, the owner decided to stand shoulder to shoulder with his employee, flip you off in solidarity with his employee, and give a speech about freedom of speech? Um, well, I don't know about you, but I would tell them all to piss off and never give them my business again.
What makes it even worse in the case of the NFL players, is that they are paid millions of dollars, per year to throw a ball and chase it around a field. That is more than most of the people watching them will see in their lifetime, and yet they have the nerve to complain about how horrible and unfair, and racist America is? Piss on all of them!

What part don't you understand? You do have "freedom of speech". You also have consequences for that speech. For example, if you tell you boss to "Fuck off", you may not have a job anymore. Ever hear the phrase "With Freedom comes responsibility"? Actions have consequences.
When you exercise your freedoms, just remember that other people also have freedom, and if you choose to say and do things that piss people off, they are free to boycott you. As far as the National Felons' League, I don't invite people into my living room that disrespect my country.

To add further, teams used to be representative of the cities they were in. Now, the teams care so little for their towns and their fans, that they will move just for a slightly better stadium.
