I am curious. If the Los Angeles Dodgers don't win the World Series will this season be considered a failure?
Let's face it the current Dodger roster is hands down the best roster in Dodger history. The last time the Dodgers won the World series was 1988. The team then had nowhere close to the roster they have now. In fact they weren't expected to win that year. They had injury issues and that Boggs home run was not supposed to happen. He was injured as well.
At the pace they are going right now they are set to win over 114 games this year and they have won 45 of the last 51 games played. The Los Angeles fan base is expecting nothing less that a World Series win so that's what lead me to wonder, if they don't win will it all be considered a failure?
Two years ago the Golden State Warriors won a record setting 79 games with only 9 losses. They were unstoppable, No team has ever won that many games in a single season. They made it to the championships to face LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers and lost... was that a failed year?
In my opinion, No. It will not be a failed year if the Dodgers don't win the World Series. They have had too much success this year for it to be an all is lost type of ending. Unfortunately due to the massive and highly dedicated fanbase in L.A. I feel that the majority will see it as a failure. What do you think? Is it an all or bust type of thing there in L.A.? We will find out.
