He's got one fight left on his contract but as he has made it very publicly clear, the UFC doesn't seem to be very interested in making this last fight happen. The details aren't clear and nobody is giving any official information and even Dana White is staying very tight-lipped about why it is that there is no planned fight for Diaz, but one thing is clear: Nate is not happy.

Nate has a massive fanbase. Despite the fact that he has a recent losing record, he is one of the most popular fighters in MMA today. It has a lot to do with his IDGAF attitude and for many including me, it has a lot to do with the fact that he always puts on a good show. The fact that he is a bleeder probably has a lot to do with it as well. Just because Nate is covered in his own blood doesn't mean that he is anywhere near done fighting. In fact, several of the fights that he won, if an outside observer were to look at the faces of the two fighters involved and had to guess who was losing based solely on what their face looked like between rounds, they would almost certainly guess that Nate was losing.

This is rarely the case with Nate though and he admits that he bleeds a lot but it doesn't phase him. One of his fights for that stupid BMF belt was stopped early because of a massive cut on his face. The cut seemed to be bothering everyone in the arena except for the person whose face it was on. Nate wanted to continue and this was one of the few doctor's stoppages that I have ever witnessed in the sport.
Despite Nate's obvious appeal, he can't seem to nail down a contract to save his life. He does his laundry in public and lately his lack of upcoming fights seem to be a "pissing contest" and now it has become literal as well as figurative.

Nate posted a picture of himself pissing outside of the UFC Performance Institute and as always, he is quite the wordsmith showing that he definitely does not have a PR team monitoring anything he puts on social media.
At this point I think that Nate really wants the UFC to just let him go, with or without a final fight. What he plans to do after that remains a mystery but I am sure that all of the other promotions would love to sign him. I don't know if this will get Dana's attention and it almost certainly is a petty crime of sorts that he obviously wont be punished for because that would simply give him even more attention.
I don't know why Dana White is blanking Nate, because he could put Diaz in the octagon with literally anyone and it would have a huge turnout in both attendance and PPV sales. I think that their beef with one another is very personal because if there is one thing that Dana White and company like more than anything else, it is money. Diaz guarantees plenty of that, so there must be a very deep hatred between the two.
Give him the fight I say. Win or lose it is going to be a winner, just like it always is with Nate. Then hopefully he will negotiate a contract with Bellator and that would be one thing that could definitely get me to finally watch that promotion.
