It was a week where the top teams dominated and those teams fighting to keep up experienced close calls that could have dashed their championship aspirations. Perhaps the most impressive performance was Notre Dame's beat down of USC putting them closer to contention and leaving the Pac-12 no margin of error if they want a team in the College Football Playoff.

Alabama cruises to an easy win over Tennessee to retain the top spot

Notes:

None of the undefeated teams lost this past week. Penn State, Wisconsin, and TCU all jump Georgia due to Georgia having a bye week. But the Top 5 remains unchanged. Miami is still stuck at 8, still looking for a signature win, but do still have Virginia Tech and Notre Dame on the schedule. Notre Dame takes the top spot for a one-loss team after dominating USC who falls to 23. Michigan who lost at Penn State falls out of the Top 25 entirely. We have 6 G5 teams, with South Florida and UCF fighting for the top spot at 6 and 7 respectively. The American Conference consists of three of the teams with the two mentioned and the Memphis Tigers who rise to 13 after their impressive victories against Navy and Houston.

This Week in College Football:

The big game this week will be Ohio State hosting Penn State. The game will have huge playoff implications and will change our rankings. If Penn State wins, they will most likely take the top spot from Alabama who is on bye this week. Notre Dame and NC State face off with the winner keeping their playoff hopes alive while the loser is most likely out.
