Just wanted to write a quick post demonstrating the advantages of the cryptofantasysports.com platform versus the "old guard", in this case DraftKings.
Tonight we're comparing two similar NHL contests that are offered on each site.
Draftkings offers a $5 One Timer contest for tonight's games.
Breaking it down, the contest is open to 118 entrants at a cost of $5, and offers a total prize pool of $500. When the contest fills at 118 entrants, the amount collected will be $590, leaving $90 as DraftKings rake on the contest (18%).
Chance to win 1st place ($75) : 1/118 - 0.85%
Chance to win $20 USD (4x or more) : 8/118 - 6.78%
Let's take a look at the contest over at cryptofantasysports.com
Breaking it down, the contest is open to 50 entrants at a cost of 10 NLC2 ($4 USD at time of writing), and offers a total prize pool of 475 NLC2 ($190 USD). When the contest fills at 50 entrants, the amount collected will be 500 NLC2, leaving 25 NLC2 as the CFS rake on the contest (5%).
Chance to win 1st place (142.5 NLC2 - $55 USD) : 1/50 - 2.00%
Chance to win 40 NLC2 or more (4x or more) : 4/50 - 8.00%
While the percentages aren't hugely different at first glance, repeated over an entire sports season (NHL and NBA have over 150 slates per year) this really just means money in your pocket. My personal #1 rule of bankroll management is keeping away from high rakes, as you've already lost that % before you've even started the contest, and your performance has to be better against the competition to outpace the amount the company is taking off the top.
Thanks for breaking it down like that. Easy to overlook what is staring you in your face.
